Releasing Khom Loi
The Yi Peng Festival is northern Thailand's version of the Loi Krathong celebration. It is held during the full moon night of the 12th lunar month of the Thai calendar, usually in November. The festival is characterized by the launching of thousands of Lanna-style hot-air balloons called the "Khom Loi".
